Christopher Cross

Christopher Cross made history with his 1980 self-titled debut album, winning five Grammy Awards, including—for the first time ever—the four most prestigious awards: Record of the Year (for the single “Sailing”), Album of the Year, Song of the Year (also for “Sailing”), and Best New Artist. Now, 30+ years after his extraordinary emergence into the music business, Cross continues his recording and performing career with a new album, Take Me As I Am, that evokes the artistry of such great singer-songwriters as Joni Mitchell and Randy Newman while addressing contemporary concerns head-on – a combination which is sure to please his loyal fan base.

OH SEES (Thee Oh Sees)

OH SEES (Thee Oh Sees)

The Oh Sees are the latest incarnation of songwriter, singer and guitarist John Dwyer’s group. Dwyer, who hails from Providence, RI, has been active on the San Francisco indie scene since the late ’90s, working with several bands, including the Coachwhips, Pink & Brown, Yikes, Up Its Alive, and Swords & Sandals, among others, and he formed OCS initially as a vehicle for the experimental instrumentals he was producing in his home studio. In time, OCS morphed into an actual band and worked under the usual flurry of names, most notably as the Oh Sees or the Ohsees, and then as Thee Oh Sees and eventually just Oh Sees, featuring Dwyer on guitar and vocals, Brigid Dawson on vocals and tambourine, Petey Dammit on guitar, and Mike Shoun on drums.
